The State of
Arkansas has awarded the Better Life Counseling Center a
two year Marriage Enrichment contract. The program
"Moving People to a Better Life" will work to improve
marriage and relationship skills among engaged and
married couples.
TANF Programs/Services
Free
Marriage Counseling -
Free marriage counseling will be provided to TANF
eligible couples by a Licensed Therapist. Counseling
will be provided at the center's office at 1605 James St
and at our satellite office in Ash Flat, AR. Please call
(870) 935-4673 to schedule an appointment and determine
if you are a TANF eligible couple.
Train the Trainer
- The Better Life Counseling Center will provide
workshops to churches, non-profit organizations
and other agencies. Individuals will be trained in
research based marriage enrichment curricula twice a
year using Marriage Mentoring: 12 Conversations
by Dr, Ed Gray, a licensed marriage and family therapist
in Memphis Tennessee. This user friendly curriculum
connects couples at different stages of the marital life
cycle, matching mentor and mentee couples to discuss
various life issues impacting marriage and family life.

Regional Healthy Marriage Resource Library
- Research based books,
journals, CD's and DVD's will be available as a lending
library to agencies in the BLCC service area. Resources
will be used to provide marriage enrichment,
relationship skills education and pastoral couples
counseling to youth, married and engaged couples.
